Count My Lies features a liar who works her way up to filling the role of nanny for Violet (Lindsay Lohan) and Jay Lockhart, but the role won't be a dream for the scammer. The household is full of secrets, and even without knowing the novel of the same name (penned by Sophie Stava), I feel comfortable predicting that there will be some sky-high stakes. According to Variety, Count My Lies has scored a series order from Hulu and Shailene Woodley of Big Little Lies will play the liar, named Sloane Caraway.

Lohan and Woodley make for an interesting pair of co-leads. Woodley has had multiple major TV roles over the past decade, and will be part of Paradise Season 2 alongside Sterling K. Brown on Hulu. In contrast, Lohan has never had a lead role in a scripted drama series despite a long list of film credits. Both actresses will also serve as executive producers on Count My Lies.

While no premiere date has been announced for when Count My Lies will be available with a Hulu subscription, there's a winning team behind the scenes of the drama. Former This Is Us showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger are on board as showrunners, writers, and executive producers. In a fun twist, there were already only a few degrees of separation between the new series and Shailene Woodley even before the casting was announced.

Woodley's arrival on Paradise teams her up with This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman as well as former star Sterling K. Brown, both of whom of course worked with Aptaker and Berger during the NBC hit's years in primetime. In addition to Big Little Lies (for which she earned her Emmy nomination) and upcoming role in Paradise Season 2, Woodley has had other main roles in shows including Secret Life of the American Teenager and Three Women. Longtime O.C. viewers may also remember her as the first actress to play Kaitlin Cooper, before then-future Arrow star Willa Holland took over the role.

As for Lindsay Lohan, coming to TV for a lead drama role for the first time isn't the only way that Count My Lies will take her in a different direction. Despite ranking as a rom-com queen and still holding a special place in the hearts of millennials everywhere for Mean Girls, Lohan shared how "nice" it will be to do a project where the culmination of the plot isn't a big kiss at the end.

Count My Lies is being billed as a limited series, so Lohan's first lead TV role isn't going to be an ongoing gig beyond a first season. Still, it should be interesting to see her flexing her acting muscles after many rom-coms and returning to the Freaky Friday world for the sequel opposite Jamie Lee Curtis.

For now, we can only wait for more updates on the rest of the cast of Count My Lies and when the limited series might be ready to premiere on Hulu. In the meantime, you can find plenty of other upcoming viewing options on our 2025 TV schedule.

Where Things Stand With Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn

After delivering her breakthrough performance in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street, Margot Robbie was catapulted to worldwide fame when she was cast to play Harley Quinn in the first Suicide Squad movie, which followed Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in the DCEU. She later reprised the role for Birds of Prey and The Suicide Squad, but there’s been no word about if she’ll return in the DCU or if a new actress will be cast to play Harley. Here’s what James Gunn had to say when Entertainment Weekly asked about this:

It sounds like Gunn, who wrote and directed The Suicide Squad ahead of being tapped to lead DC Studios with Peter Safran in late 2022, has already reached a decision on Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, but isn’t willing to reveal it just yet. He also didn’t give any timeframe on when we can expect to learn this information. Maybe it’ll be before 2025 is over, maybe it’ll be some time next year.

I’m hopeful that Gunn plans to bring Margot Robbie back to play Harley Quinn, as I enjoyed her take on the character. However, she’s also a much more in-demand actress and producer compared to when she was bringing The Joker’s ex-girlfriend to life, especially since Barbie took the world by storm in 2023. It might be difficult to arrange for her to return to the role, whether it’s because of scheduling conflicts or because it’ll be more expensive to bring her aboard. Harley’s too popular a character to leave on the proverbial shelf, so that’d make it inevitable to hire a new actress in Robbie’s place, which is allegedly what’s likely to happen according to a new rumor.

James Gunn Wants To Bring Bloodsport Back

Fingers crossed we get clarification either way on Margot Robbie and Harley Quinn sooner rather than later. Meanwhile, James Gunn also shared his desire to have Idris Elba reprise Robert DuBois, a.k.a. Bloodsport, who’s only appeared in The Suicide Squad so far. Gunn said:

Bloodsport led the team that infiltrated Corto Maltese in The Suicide Squad, with his cohorts including Polka-Dot Man, Ratcatcher 2, Peacemaker and King Shark. Rick Flag Jr. and Harley Quinn later joined up with them, having survived their own team’s massacre, and Bloodsport and Harley got along well enough during their short time together, though not to the point she could remember his name. Since Bloodsport blackmailed Amanda Waller into letting him and the other surviving Task Force X members go free in The Suicide Squad’s ending, presumably he’s resumed being a mercenary, though I’d like to think he’s also making an effort to be a better father to his daughter Tyla.

Unlike the uncertainty surrounding Harley Quinn, James Gunn’s statement about Bloodsport makes it sound like he’d have Idris Elba reprise him rather than hire another actor in his place. Whether or not this character even resurfaces in the DCU, we’ll have to wait and see. For now, the next DCU project, Peacemaker, returns for its second season on Thursday, August 21.

Ava Pearl's Head of Household week in Big Brother Season 27 is almost at a close, and what a week it was. We saw some fresh faces on the nomination block and a new winner of the veto, but will we see someone unexpected go home this week?

CinemaBlend is streaming Big Brother online and after confirming the veto wasn't used, I believe I know who has the best odds of going home between Keanu Soto, Zach Cornell, and Vince Panaro. Here's how it looks at this point, and if Zach is going to regret not using his power.

Keanu Needs To Win The BB Blockbuster To Stay

While initially it seemed like Keanu would be safe this week as Houseguests debated if it was a better move to take out Vince and Zach given his position in the game, it seems everyone has gone full circle to getting out Keanu. He is the comp beast of the season, after all, with a handful of veto wins under his belt before the jury phase. Assuming he doesn't beast out and win the BB Blockbuster, he's going to go home regardless if it's against Vinny or Zach.

Vince Is Likely Leaving If He's Against Zach

Vince has been accused of "playing all sides" in the house, and hasn't been able to convince anyone otherwise as more Houseguests start to talk about the various deals they had with him. He seems like the more conniving player of the bunch, and frankly, his lack of competitive wins is the only thing saving him in the eviction vote if he's up against Keanu. That said, the projected votes between him and Zach are razor thin, and it'll be the most interesting scenario if it comes down to those two.

Zach Isn't Out Of The Woods Yet

Zach may be able to skate through this week unscathed after his tremendous misplay of not spending his $10,000 for guaranteed safety, but as mentioned above, the margins between him and Vince are razor thin. As Ava mentioned in the episode, she wants Vinny to stay over Zach, and with the support between the two, there's a decent chance she may have to break the tie and pick who goes home.

For that to happen, Vince would need Mickey Lee to break in his favor. As of writing, she seems pretty steadfast on keeping Zach in the game, which would prevent a tie and ensure that Zach lives to fight another week and avoids getting added to the list of worst game moves in Big Brother history. Things can always change, though, so don't be surprised if the vote gets wild if it's between Zach and Vinny.

We'll see who gets voted out during the Big Brother live eviction on Thursday, August 14th on CBS at 8:00 p.m. ET. Tune into the live feeds for more fun with the cast, and a lot of moments you won't see in the episodes.

What we know about Avatar: Fire and Ash is limited, but it's expected to break new ground in regard to the world of Pandora. The story will follow up on The Way of Water's ending, and in an interview with Empire Worthington revealed how the previous film fill influence the threequel. In his words:

Now this is an intriguing twist for the leading duo of Avatar, who have always found a way to unite in the face of adversity. The death of their firstborn son has forever changed the family dynamic forever, and it seems we'll see that play out throughout Fire and Ash's runtime.

Zoe Saldaña has also teased the pain Neytiri is going through in the forthcoming threequel, so that's no doubt going to be a huge part of the story. Things will be further complicated with the family's inclusion of Spider, a human Neytiri resents. I'm personally glad we'll see these stories continue to evolve, rather than simply moving past that major character death.

The teaser for Avatar: Fire and Ash showed a glimpse of this interpersonal struggle, which will occur as our heroes are battling with the Ash People and a new villain. Later in that same interview Worthington further spoke about the way his character and Neytiri are dealing with their grief, offering:

While the Avatar movies are obviously known for being visual spectacles, but there's also a deeper story involved. Once Jake and Neytiri's circle expanded to a family, we got a handful of new characters to care about. Let's just hope they all make it out of Fire and Ash alive.

As previously mentioned, our heroes are going to come to battle with the Ash People, which is the first time that we'll see different tribes of Na'vi in conflict with each other. And with the looming threat of the RDA and Quaritch, it sounds like we're in for a layered story.

Our questions will be answered when Avatar: Fire and Ash hits theaters on December 19th as part of the 2025 movie release list.

During the sprawling two-hour New Heights episode, which even includes her sharing more about getting her masters back and the secrets behind the orange door, Taylor Swift showed the cover art, track list, and release date of her new 12th studio album – which officially drops on October 3. Kelce could not contain his joy over the songs to come. In his words:

Swift said the color orange, which brands have already run away with this week, feels "energetically" how her life has been lately before sharing that the album is about "what was going on behind the scenes" in her "inner life" during the Eras Tour.

During the announcement, Taylor Swift made it clear that there will only be twelve songs in The Life Of A Showgirl – which is a change of pace from her history of having bonus tracks upon bonus tracks, or even bonus albums. Along with calling it the record she's been "wanting to make for a very long time," Swift also had this to say about the upcoming release:

As a longtime Taylor Swift fan that has literally been following her from the beginning, this truly feels like the right direction for the artist after the black-and-white grunge of her previous record. For The Tortured Poets Department, Swift put out 31 tracks in a much more cathartic lyric-driven record. This one sounds like it's going to have us dancing!! During the podcast, Swift said she worked with Swedish producers Max Martin and Shellback, who were her main collaborators on Red and with whom she wrote a lot on 1989 and Reputation as well.

My favorite point of hers is that she wanted to be as proud of this album as she is of The Eras Tour, which was full of so many epic moments, and wow, does that get me excited for what's to come.

Appearing on the Where Everybody Knows Your Name podcast, hosted by Orville cast member Ted Danson, Seth MacFarlane says he specifically created The Orville as a sort of counterbalance to the rest of television, which he says is too pessimistic. MacFarlane said:

It’s difficult to argue with Seth MacFarlane’s assessment. Optimistic just isn’t a word you would use to describe most shows on television right now. Those shows are still good. MacFarlane himself calls out the dystopian The Handmaid’s Tale by name as a show that he says he loves, but he just thinks there are too many shows that take its same approach,

Seth MacFarlane clearly believes that Hollywood has the power to influence people, but he thinks there’s too much focus on stories that are about characters and worlds that we should try to avoid. He thinks we should also get stories about heroes that we want to be and about worlds that we may be able to live in if people make the right choices. MacFarlane continued:

MacFarlane actually uses the old He-Man cartoon series as an example of a show that gave him the sort of aspirational message that he now thinks is lacking in pop culture. He-Man would occasionally save his own enemies, because he knew that was the right thing to do. MacFarlane doesn’t think we have as many heroes on screen who act as examples of the sort of people we should want to be.

In the end, Seth MacFarlane feels that making those positive stories is something Hollywood should be doing because he believes the industry can impact people in a positive way. While some celebrities try to effect change by speaking out politically, MacFarlane says that doesn’t really work because people don’t care. What people care about are the stories those celebrities tell. He said:

Of course, without The Orville making new episodes, we are without that optimistic viewpoint once again. Interestingly, MacFarlane references a potential Season 4, saying it has yet to be made, which would seem to indicate that might be happening. There were been reports of The Orville Season 4 going into production this year, though it's unclear if another season will ever actually happen. It certainly would be nice to have that optimistic voice again.

While one director being hired to replace another who drops out ahead of principal photography is hardly uncommon, Solo’s switchover from Lord and Miller to Howard occurred after the Star Wars movie had been rolling cameras for six months. In an interview with Vulture, Howard recalled how Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy arranged for him to have breakfast with Solo producer Alli Shearmur and co-writer Jon Kasdan, which led to the following:

Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s dismissal from Solo: A Star Wars Story stemmed from creative differences, as the directing duo reportedly thought they were making a comedy movie, but Disney and Lucasfilm only wanted shades of humor. Between that, Lucasfilm not liking how Lord and Miller were frequently shooting additional takes with improvisational dialogue, and a handful of other issues, and it was ultimately decided that they were no longer a good fit for the movie. Just two days after Lord and Miller’s exit, Ron Howard was announced to be taking their place.

Though Ron Howard ultimately received sole directing credit for Solo, as he reportedly reshot about 70% of it, Phil Lord and Chris Miller were still credited as executive producers. As far as it was like on his end to take over helming duties, Howard said:

Set roughly 10 years prior to the events of A New Hope, Solo: A Star Wars Story depicted major events in the title character’s life, including meeting Joonas Suotamo’s Chewbacca and Donald Glover’s Lando Calrissian, and winning the Millennium Falcon. Its lineup of new characters included Emilia Clarke’s Qi’ra (whom later resurfaced in the comics), Woody Harrelson’s Tobias Beckett and Paul Bettany’s Dryden Vos. Unfortunately, Solo’s dismal box office performance resulted in sequel plans being scrapped.

At least it sounds like Ron Howard had a pleasant enough time working on Solo, even though the circumstances behind his hiring were less than ideal. And hey, if Donald Glover’s Lando Calrissian movie ever gets off the ground, that could easily be a platform for Alden Ehreneich to reprise Han in a supporting role.

World War Z Was Just Named A Priority During Paramount Meeting

The Paramount Skydance Corporation has recently gotten a new chairman and CEO in David Ellison, who met with journalists on Wednesday to discuss his plans for the future of movies and television from the studio, per The Hollywood Reporter. While it’s no surprise he,and his colleagues name-dropped franchises like Star Trek, Top Gun and Transformers, the big head-turner was when World War Z was also named in the chit-chat as one of the studio’s “priorities.”

The zombie title was discussed amidst the company’s top brass sharing their plans to make “the No. 1 destination for the most talented artists and filmmakers in the world” and Eliison’s particular hopes to make more movies exclusively for theaters. World War Z was named in the studio’s plans alongside the interest for more horror and R-rated comedies to be featured in multiplexes.

What Happened To World War Z 2, And What Could Be Next?

It’s interesting to hear World War Z be named after World War Z’s sequel starring Brad Pitt and helmed by David Fincher was cancelled in 2019 after it had been greenlit by Paramount following the success of the 2013 movie. The reference to World War Z could signal a second chance for the shelved project.

Funny enough, Brad Pitt and David Fincher are currently working together on the spinoff of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood that's reportedly called The Adventures of Cliff Booth, where he’s reprising his role as Cliff Booth following starring in the Quentin Tarantino movie. Production for the project that has the director/actor combo from Se7en, Fight Club and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button started last month.

It’s certainly possible that after Pitt and Fincher work together again, they could be inspired to make a great zombie movie together. But at the same time, it’s also very likely World War Z would be completely rebooted with a new cast and filmmakers. The last time Pitt talked about it 2019, he called the sequel’s story “really good.”

It’s also worth noting that World War Z was Brad Pitt’s most successful commercial film he starred in for a long time before the recent box office haul for F1, which has surpassed it. We’ll keep an eye out, but I imagine if Paramount is looking at more World War Z, one would guess they'd try to get ahold of one of the biggest movie stars in the world to resume his leading man duties.

A New Dan Levy Comedy Just Started Filming

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Dan Levy is currently in New Jersey filming a new comedy series for Netflix called Big Mistakes, and I’m so here for it. Levy created the series alongside another very funny and talented name in comedy these days, Rachel Sennott, and Levy also serves as its showrunner. The series will star Dan Levy alongside Taylor Ortega, Jack Innanen, Boran Kuzum and Abby Quinn, who are serving as series regulars, as well as Elizabeth Perkins, Jacob Gutierrez, Joe Barbara, Josh Fadem and Mark Ivanir, who have recurring roles.

The report made me aware of a TV deal Levy currently has with Netflix, which was made back in 2021, and led to Good Grief. But it’s the premise that really has me eyeing the next Dan Levy project.

Why It Has Me Hooked As A Schitt’s Creek Fan

The upcoming series, which I wouldn’t expect to be on the 2025 TV schedule, is centered around siblings who are described as “deeply incapable” as they are blackmailed into “the world of organized crime.” Of course, my mind went straight to Levy and Annie Murphy’s Schitt’s Creek characters, who one could describe similarly.

While I don’t expect Big Mistakes to necessarily be like Schitt’s Creek exactly by any means, I do think Levy knows how to write hilarious sibling relationships and fish-out-of-water storylines, and this sounds like that, except this time the stakes sound much higher than a well-off family being forced to live in a small town. I imagine Levy and Ortega (who is playing the sister in the series) will have to be dodging literal bullets and trying to come out of things alive.

Since the end of Schitt’s Creek back in 2020, Levy has definitely been busy. He had a stint on Sex Education, along with writing/directing and starring in the Netflix movie, Good Grief. He also hosted the 76th Emmy Awards with his dad, Eugene Levy, last year and has had credits in movies like Haunted Mansion, Unfrosted, Smurfs and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

I’m definitely excited to see Dan Levy return to the TV comedy space, and it sounds like a premise that could lend itself to a following from Schitt’s Creek fans like myself, along with multiple seasons. I would imagine we can look forward to the show in 2026, but there’s no release date. For now, we know the show’s in the middle of production, and that incites a reaction that’s the opposite of “Ew, David!”

In the season finale of Hot Ones, Macaulay Culkin addressed some long-standing questions fans have had about the Home Alone franchise, including which film he thinks is best. For him, the answer is straightforward and not so much about nostalgia: it's the one in which he has a personal financial stake. He explained:

That's fair. I would probably opt for the project that earned me the most money as well. Especially when we're talking about genuine blockbusters like these two movies.

For those who aren’t aware, the Talkboy was a toy created for Home Alone 2 but went on to inspire its real-life production, becoming the biggest hit toy of the 1993 Christmas season. It was essentially a voice recorder made by Tiger Electronics. The company negotiated with the movie's production team for its creation, and Kevin used it in the film to trick adults into giving him credit cards and cheese pizzas.

Do they still make Talkboys? I think I had at least two or three of those during my childhood. The fact that the Getting Even With Dad star received nearly 15% on each of the devices makes me happy. Get your money, Mac.

The original Home Alone movies are total classics and made a ton of money at the box office. The Good Son actor seems to cherish the franchise, not just because it was successful, but also because of the friendships he built with the cast, especially with his on-screen mom, Catherine O'Hara. He was incredibly emotional when he reunited with his costar at the Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony in 2023. O'Hara was there to give a sweet speech about him.

Those first two films starring Macaulay Culkin will always be holiday classics that fans love. There’s a special kind of magic in those films that’s hard to recreate, even though they’ve tried with a bunch of sequels, spin-offs, and reboots—all of which you can stream with a Disney+ subscription. The latest one, Home Sweet Home Alone, is a pretty dull reboot by most accounts, and is only a quasi-sequel to the My Girl star's films.

It's wonderful to see Macaulay Culkin, a former child star, amongst those who continue to thrive in the entertainment industry. He has a fairly busy 2025 movie schedule, having provided a voice for a character in Disney’s upcoming Zootopia 2., which is set to hit theaters on November 26. I doubt he has the same kind of 15% deal as he did on Home Alone 2, though.

Epic Universe Helped Bring In Record Tourism Taxes To Central Florida

In May 2025, tourism taxes in Orange County Florida (where both Universal Orlando Resort and Walt Disney World are located) were the highest they'd ever been for that particular month of the year. That also just happened to be the same month that Epic Universe opened. Now, the Orlando Sentinel reports that the tourism tax numbers for June are in, and they came to $33.7 million. That's also a record for the month of June.

Of course, the one major difference between the May-June period in 2024 and 2025 is the existence of Epic Universe. So the new park is being given the credit for the record numbers. Combine this with the fact that Universal’s parent company, Comcast, reported a nearly 20% increase in theme park revenue compared to last quarter, and it looks like Epic Universe is off to an incredible start.

Disney Experiences Had A Record Quarter Despite Epic Universe Competition

One might assume that success at Universal Orlando Resort must come at the expense of Disney Parks, but nothing could further from the truth. Many have been focused on the success of Epic Universe, but some big news came during Disney’s last quarterly earnings call. It was at that time that the House of Mouse announced that the Disney Experiences division, which includes the theme parks and Disney Cruise Line, had a record quarter. More specifically, the division posted revenue that was up 10% to $6.4 billion.

While that revenue could have come any number of places, it was specifically the domestic parks -- Disneyland and Walt Disney World -- that drove that growth, with both attendance and per capita spending increasing.

There's been a lot of talk in regard to the notion that Walt Disney World would suffer financially due to EU's opening. Such an idea comes from the assumption that vacationers who might have otherwise have visited Disney would instead choose Universal in order to experience Epic for the time. However, history shows that’s not usually how it works. Actually, new attractions frequently draw fans to both resorts.

Epic may have drawn more tourists to Florida, and those tourist tax numbers certainly indicate that it did exactly that. But, once those tourists got to Orlando, many of them apparently decided to visit both Disney and Universal.

Needless to say, Epic Universe is clearly a hit, and vacationers are flocking to it. (Look no further than Monsters Unchained's recent milestone as evidence of that.) All in all, it's important to acknowledge that this is great news for Universal, but it's not the only corporation that's benefitting.

The upcoming A24 movie, Highest 2 Lowest, is Denzel Washington’s latest feature film, and it sees him reuniting with longtime collaborator Spike Lee. Washington recently caught up with Jake Hamilton of Jake’s Takes, during which Hamilton mentioned the actor’s two Oscars. Ultimately, Washington was quick to express his disinterest in such accolades. The A-lister then referenced his long-known devotion to religion while explaining his rationale:

Denzel Washington won his first Academy Award in 1990, as he earned Best Supporting Actor for his role as Private Silas Trip in the 1989 historical drama, Glory. And, in 2002, Washington became the second Black man to earn Best Actor, winning for his performance in 2001’s Training Day. On top of that, the 70-year-old star has also received Oscar nominations for seven other films, like Malcolm X, Cry Freedom and Fences. Nevertheless, based on his interview (which is on YouTube), Washington is unfazed by those honors:

This is honestly a very healthy perspective to have. Awards can be cool, as it’s an honor for someone to be recognized by their peers or any governing body. However, it’s also easy to become fixated on pursuing accolades. I’d imagine that when someone’s an actor, it’s especially easy to become focused on those gold statuettes the Academy hands out. All in all, the Philadelphia alum isn’t looking to fall down the rabbit hole in the pursuit of trophies, and he’s exuded that mentality many times.

Just earlier this year, Denzel Washington addressed his Oscars snub for his scene-stealing work in Gladiator II. Washington offered a refreshing take at the time, saying that he’d “been around too long” to concern himself with something like that. He also expressed pleasure in working on Othello, which he was performing at the time. Nevertheless, Washington does mind imparting wisdom upon those who are nominated, as he also offered some keen advice for Colman Domingo, who received two consecutive Oscar nominations.

Regardless of what awards Denzel Washington wins or loses, I’m just prepared to savor all of the performances he’s still aiming to give. That includes Black Panther 3 (which he’s discussed) and of course, Highest 2 Lowest. Check out that latest Spike Lee Joint when it opens in theaters on August 15 as part of the 2025 movie schedule. Apple TV+ subscription holders will also be able to stream the film starting on September 5.

In an interview with Paul Thomas Anderson, his director in the upcoming One Battle After Another, for Esquire, Leonardo DiCaprio says that unlike his character Rick Dalton in Once Upon a Time...In Hollywood, he rarely watches his own movies. His one exception to that rule is his film The Aviator, one of his projects with Martin Scorsese. DiCaprio said:

It’s far from uncommon for actors to not watch their own movies. While many will see their own work at the movie's premiere, many actors avoid their own movies after that. There are a variety of reasons given. In some cases, the performer just feels weird watching themself. In other cases actors end up critiquing their own performance pretty harshly so they avoid watching it in order to avoid seeing everything they think they did wrong.

It's arguably an interesting-bordering-on-unexpected choice for a movie that DiCaprio rewatches himself in. As good as The Aviator is, it's probably not the movie most DiCaprio fans rewatch to see the actor in his element. That film feels like it gets overlooked within his filmography alongside others like The Wolf of Wall Street or ONce Upon A Time...In Hollywood.

The Aviator would certainly be a big movie for Leonardo DiCaprio. It marked his second Oscar nomination, but his first for Best Actor, an award he’s been nominated for four additional times since.

However, DiCaprio doesn’t watch the movie in order to review his own performance. The actor says the thing that makes The Aviator special is that it was a landmark movie in his career, one where he felt more than just a hired player. DiCaprio continued…

The Aviator was also the first of DiCaprio’s own movies where he served as a producer, giving him more of a say in the how the finished product turned out. At all of 30 years old, he was the embodiment of accomplishment to be in that position, and with a project that he clearly felt very strongly about. One imagines rewatching the film brings back a lot of those memories, and considering how well regarded The Aviator was, they're likely all good memories.

What we know about Avengers: Doomsday is limited, but fans are hyped to see mutants back on the big screen. A rumor from Cosmic Circus claims that the X-Men will be wearing brightly colored costumes, which are more accurate to the comics and cartoons. Scooper Alex Perez writes:

D you hear that sound? It's comic book fans everywhere rejoicing. Because while the X-Men movies changed the costumes to black leather, fans have been hoping to see more brightly colored ones appear on the big screen. If this report is to be believed, that's exactly what we'll get when the OGs return as part of the Avengers: Doomsday cast. The lack of colorful, individual costumes has been a long-standing point of contention in the last series of movies.

This would be a major change to what the actors wore during their tenure in the original X-Men trilogy. Actors who will be returning (and apparently in bright, colorful costumes) are none other than James Marsden's Cyclops, Kelsey Grammer's Beast, Alan Cumming's Nightrawler, Ian McKellen's Magneto, Patrick Stewart's Professor X, and Rebecca Romijn's Mystique. Now we'll have to wait and see if this rumor about their costumes come to fruition.

X-Men '97 was acclaimed on Disney+, so it makes sense that Doomsday might be taking inspiration from that acclaimed animated series for the mutants' costumes. Moviegoers who spent years watching the Marvel movies in order have waited to see these colorful costumes on the big screen, so this seems like a big payoff for longtime fans.

Fans were finally treated to Wolverine's yellow suit in Deadpool 3, and the internet exploded when the first images of him arrived online. Considering how warmly this was embraced by fans, it makes sense that the studio might want to follow suit (pun intended) when we see the X-Men in Doomsday.

After the X-Men being noticeably missing from the MCU for its early stages, Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox allowed for mutants to finally join in on the fun. The Marvels' credits scene brought back Kelsey Grammer as a comic-accurate Beast brought to life with visual effects, and many fans assume that alternate universe's heroes will be in Doomsday.

All will be revealed when Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on December 18th of next year as part of the 2026 movie release list. It should be interesting to see how mutants are handled in the MCU, especially as a new cast of actors is expected to join for whenever the X-Men get their own movie.

If you’re a longtime fan of The Big Bang Theory, you may recall Kevin Can Wait’s Ryan Cartwright and Silicon Valley’s Josh Brener making guest appearances. The former appeared in a Season 6 episode as Penny’s community college classmate, and the latter appeared in two episodes across Seasons 5 and 6 as Dale, who worked at Stuart’s comic book store. Well, for Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, Cartwright will instead play Kyle, who is reportedly a comic book nerd and regular customer of the comic book store run by Kevin Sussman’s Stuart. Brener is reportedly playing someone named Trevor, but no details about him were revealed.

Additionally, Deadline has heard that Tommy Walker from the Nickelodeon series Danger Force will appear in Stuart Fails to Save the Universe as Gary, the “handsome” boyfriend of Lauren Lapkus’ Denise. Although Walker never appeared on The Big Bang Theory or any of the other spinoffs, he did cross paths with creator Chuck Lorre when he guest starred on the Netflix series The Kominsky Method. Cartwright, Brener and Walker will all recur on Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, while Sussman and Lapkus are joined in the main cast by Brian Posehn and John Ross Bowie, who are respectively reprising Bert and Barry Kripke.

It was first reported in 2023 that another Big Bang Theory offshoot was in the works, and by March 2025, the series’ title was unveiled. Then last month, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe officially scored a series order, and we learned that it will follow Start attempting to fix the universe after damaging it with a device created by Leonard Hofstadter and Sheldon Cooper. This will trigger what’s described as a “multiverse armageddon,” and it’s been teased that this will pave the way for alternate versions of TBBT characters to appear.

In Ryan Cartwright, Josh Brener and Tommy Walker’s case, however, they’re now back in the franchise to play different roles, so we’ll have to wait and see how they mesh with these fan-favorites. It hasn’t been announced yet when Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, which Chuck Lorre co-created with The Avengers’ Zak Penn, will be released, but you’re always welcome to revisit The Big Bang Theory proper on HBO Max while we wait for that information and more updates.

I had a chance to catch up with Jimmy after he left the house. While he's still not entirely caught up on the episodes yet, he is streaming Big Brother online and reading what the fans have to say about Season 27. Given that he's had the weekend to digest all of that, Jimmy shared his thoughts about the Houseguest he thought audiences would adore and the one player who exceeded his expectations.

Jimmy Says The Houseguests All Thought Rylie Was The Star

While I was talking about how I had a bad feeling about Rylie Jeffries even before the game officially started, Jimmy shared a surprising reveal. Per Jimmy, Rylie is one of the most beloved competitors amongst the Houseguests. Here's what Heagerty specifically had to say about that:

Jimmy didn't clarify those "understandable reasons." Still, there are a few reasons as to why fans wouldn't want to be in Rylie's corner. For instance, Rylie did mention early on that he "didn't need" to win Big Brother and that there are better opportunities for him outside of the house.

Some fans have also been uncomfortable with Rylie's romantic pursuit of Katherine Woodman. On that front, the episodes have shied away from his aggressive flirting style, which many fans have noticed on the live feeds. There are also court records (as shared on Instagram) regarding a woman alleging Rylie is the father of her unborn child. Of course, all of that plays out while he engages in a romance with someone else on TV. All this to say, viewers will form opinions on the legal drama, and it's possible the Big Brother Houseguests aren't aware of any of that.

Jimmy Realized Ashley Is A Better Player Than He Thought

Jimmy also admitted to CinemaBlend that he had a totally inaccurate impression of another Houseguest. The Big Brother 27 pre-juror admitted he had Ashley Hollis all wrong, and that she might be one of the best currently playing the game:

I think the live feed viewers themselves are still deciding if Ashley knows how to use a Swiffer mop or not, but she does have a good read on the house. That was much better than what Jimmy or his other associates thought for sure, as Ashley gave off the energy of an oblivious Houseguest who didn't want to do more than stir the pot.

Now that Jimmy has access to the live feeds and can use a Paramount+ subscription to tune in, I wonder if he'll have an even greater appreciation for the way that Ashley is playing the game. Despite all the drama caused by "Showergate," she's managed to keep a target off her back every week since, which is a rare feat when you're one of the first targets.

Whether Ashley is playing Big Brother well enough to win remains to be seen. In all honesty, Season 27 feels like a crap shoot, because the collective bad strategy of several players has unwittingly led to the eviction order feeling random over the past couple of weeks. That's also a credit to the BB Blockbuster, which is forcing players to show their cards earlier.

Viewers will see how Ashley and other Houseguests further navigate the game, as Big Brother continues (sans Jimmy) on CBS on Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. ET amid the 2025 TV schedule. Of course, the live feeds are always available, but don't forget there's a feed on Pluto TV if Paramount+ is not an option.

Recently, we got a chance to sit down with Airplane’s David Zucker, who just launched MasterCrash, an online course that outlines the rules of making a good spoof movie. He's talked in the past about being frustrated about what happened with the sequel, and let the record show, he's still not a happy flyer.

He, of course, wrote and directed the beloved original alongside his brother Jeff Zucker and collaborator Jim Abrahams. Initially, they didn’t have any plans to return for another Airplane, but after the movie made more than $170M at the box office (which was a staggering amount in 1980), they were pressured by Paramount execs David Katzenberg and Michael Eisner to do a sequel.

The Zuckers and Abrahams talked things out amongst themselves and decided on a framework. It would follow original leads Robert Hays and Julie Hagerty. She would meet his family for the first time ahead of a wedding, and it would turn into a spoof of The Godfather, with the movie literally being called Airplane II: The Godfather. Paramount loved it, but when they asked Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola for his take, he apparently told them not to do it. Here’s a portion of Zucker’s quote…

Look: I’m not going to say how people should or shouldn’t feel about spoofs and parodies of their work. I get that it’s an emotionally complicated thing. I also get that Paramount obviously wanted to make more Godfather movies with Coppola, and if he was going to make Godfather III, they wouldn’t want to upset him. I work with enough creative types to know you need to tread carefully in that situation.

In retrospect, however, what’s unfortunate is that Godfather III didn’t actually end up coming out until 1990. That’s a full eight years after Airplane II was released, and had everyone known that, I doubt there would have been as many concerns about making a spoof movie, given it would have been completely out of everyone’s minds by the time Godfather III came out.

That’s not how things worked out though. Instead, the Zuckers and Abrahams decided not to return for the sequel (and never even watched it). Paramount moved forward with a different team. Hayes and Hagerty reprised their roles, along with a few other cast members, but there was a pretty negative public perception before the movie even came out. Reviews were mostly middling to slightly negative, and the film only did a fraction of the business its predecessor did.

As for Zucker, he went on to have an extremely successful career making other spoof movies. Most notably, he co-created the Naked Gun franchise, though he's not involved in the remake. He also directed other memorable titles like BASEketball and Scary Movie 3. He’ll always wonder what could have been with Airplane II, and now I will too.

What we know about Stranger Things 5 is limited, but anticipation couldn't be higher for the impending finale. All eyes are on the future, but Ryder is also looking back and reflecting on how the show began. During an interview with Elle, the actress revealed the words she offered young stars like Millie Bobby Brown, saying:

How sweet is that? The Stranger Things cast became famous overnight, and at a very young age. So Winona tried to instill the importance of the work itself, rather than how big the show became. Given how long she's been a star of TV and film, she definitely has a unique perspective on this subject.

Aside from making sure that her young co-stars appreciate the work of acting, she also tried to offer another important piece of advice: self-worth. In the same interview she spoke about raising the cast up, saying:

She's not wrong. The cast was key to selling Stranger Things, especially back in Season 1 when they were so young. They quickly became household names, especially Millie Bobby Brown. And the show simply wouldn't have captured the hearts of so many fans without their specific contributions as actors.

Stranger Things Season 5 has been delayed a number of times, resulting in over three years passing since Season 4's finale aired in July of 2022. But that hasn't stopped fans like me from patiently counting the days until we get new footage. Stranger Things 5 is splitting its episodes releases into three separate dates, rather than giving us the full season at once. And that should ensure that the fandom experiences the series finale at the same pace.

Stranger Things 5 will air its first four episodes November 26th as part of the 2025 TV premiere schedule. Then we'll get three more episodes December 25th before the series finale is released December 31st. I know what my holiday plans are going to be now.

The cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert shook the internet and sparked a massive conversation. Now, there are questions about how this choice will impact the future of other late-night talk shows as well as variety programs like Saturday Night Live. While nothing has happened on this front in terms of these shows’ futures, SNL cast member Bowen Yang got candid about the possibility of “this Colbert shit” impacting the NBC series and whether they should all be worried or not right now.

Marc Maron asked Yang on his podcast, WTF with Marc Maron, if everything was going well at SNL. In response, the comedian said:

The host then asked why they wouldn’t be, and Yang replied with:

Maron then noted that the show is at NBC, and Yang said that he was right. However, while seemingly referencing the Paramount and Skydance merger and the potential for business deals like that to happen at other networks, he said:

Along with this point, they also spoke about how, in this media landscape that’s ever evolving to be more and more social media and clip-based, SNL doesn’t have to change. Meanwhile, late-night talk shows have had to adapt and evolve a bit more.

However, the political aspect of it all was at the base of this conversation. After Colbert’s program wound up on the list of canceled shows, there has been a lot of speculation about whether it was politically motivated. Doland Trump did say that he loved that The Late Show got canceled on Truth Social, via THR, and he said, “I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next.” However, amid this and Paramount Global’s merger with Skydance, it’s been maintained that Colbert’s cancellation was a financial decision.

To that point, Yang and Maron discussed the political satire on Saturday Night Live and whether they were worried about it. The long-time cast member specifically spoke about James Austin Johnson, who has been impersonating Trump on the show for years now, saying:

This notion of politics playing into what might or might not air on the 2025 TV schedule has certainly been amplified following the cancellation of The Late Show. The Wicked actor clarified that he’s not trying to make people scared; he’s simply thinking about how a show like Saturday Night Live might be impacted by the ongoing discourse. He explained:

Back when Colbert’s show was canceled, Bowen Yang reacted, telling iHeart Radio that it was “so tragic.” He also called it “a really dark day,” explaining that “the way that these networks are being consolidated is really, really bleak.” Those comments fall right in line with this discussion about the potential future of Saturday Night Live.

At the moment, it’s unclear if all of this will impact SNL or not. However, when it returns to the air for Season 51, we’ll be sure to keep you updated on what happens and how it fits into this ongoing conversation about the future of late-night television.

It wasn’t a stunt for a movie that Chris Hemsworth reveals he wasn’t allowed to do recently. He tells THR that for the new season of Limitless: Live Better Now, available with a Disney+ subscription, there had been plans for him to attempt to surf a 40 foot wave. Unfortunately, it seems the powers that be decided such a thing was too risky. Hemsworth said…

Ironically the episode of Limitless where the wave stunt would have occurred is entitled “Risk.” Clearly the episode needed to let Hemsworth put himself at some amount of risk, but the wave was seen as too risky, while climbing a dam was apparently fine.

One of the major reasons stuntpeople are used in movies isn’t that stars are unwilling to put themselves art risk, it’s that the studio and/or the insurance company won’t let them. If a major film lead gets injured, it can delay movies, costing everybody involved money. Tom Cruise once fired an insurance company for not letting perform a Mission: Impossible stunt.

But the issue for Chris Hemsworth wasn’t simply that if something went wrong it would cause problems for the Disney+ series. He says it was higher ups at Disney that killed the idea, because getting hurt on Limitless could have jeopardised a his next marvel movie, a film, with a lot riding on it. Hemsworth continued…

We know Chris Hemsworth is part of the Avengers: Doomsday cast, and that movie is so important to Disney it’s honestly a shock any of the cast is let out in public where they might trip and hurt themselves. While Hemsworth recently confirmed a viral video was not part of an announcement he was walking away from Thor, if the actor ever wants to surf a 40 foot wave, he might need to be done with Thor before anybody will let him.

The side-by-side image comes from Netflix Nordic’s Instagram, and it highlights a handful of differences for both Pugsley and Wednesday. While both have different-ish hairstyles (Wednesday's bangs have a starker silhouette, for example) and lost kid-like features in their face, Ordonez’s growth spurt is the most undeniable change. Especially when posed next to the 2022 still, it's abundantly obvious he’s grown at least a couple of inches. Check it out:

The comparison is jaw-dropping, but Isaac Ordonez was just around 13 during Season 1, and he’s now 16. So, the dramatic growth spurt makes sense. He honestly almost looks like two different actors as he is so much shorter than Ortega in one and towers over her in the other. As is the case for many series that feature a young cast (like Percy Jackson), it's always a bit shocking when teenage actors return for more work and have grown up.

Naturally, the three-year gap between seasons wasn’t lost on many like me. Commenters were all over Ordonez’s transformation and had some creative takes that aligned with the iconic family. Some were a bit sentimental, while others were more Wednesday-coded. Take a look for yourself:

Many were quick to comment on the timeframe, along with the tween to teen’s looks, noting that it was hard to imagine such a dramatic growth spurt over one summer. However, many were sweet about the Netflix series' return after three years.

Ordonez wasn’t the only one to change. The Beetlejuice Beetlejuice star grew up, too, even if it wasn’t as apparent onscreen. Jenna Ortega's fashion premiere looks have been the real tell that she’s entering young adulthood. She’s no longer the Season 1 Wednesday dancing her heart out, but she is still having fun running alongside the chaos.

With the changes known, these actors, and specifically Ordonez, now join ranks with a slew of young stars who’ve aged faster than their characters. This happening, of course, is nothing new in the age of streaming. And one of the most famous instances is in regard to the Netflix original Stranger Things and its cast aging. Now, it’ll be interesting to see how much Wednesday we’ll get and how much Jenna Ortega and Isaac Ordonez may change during the course of it.

ESPN Is Establishing A Couple Changes To Inside The NBA During The Early Part Of Its Run

According to a new update, Inside’s new season is set to premiere after ESPN’s first NBA doubleheader of the season on October 22 amid the 2025 TV schedule. There’s a catch, however, as the show’s runtime will be shorter than fans are accustomed to. Sports Media Watch reports that the former TNT show will only air in a half-hour timeslot as opposed to having a 50-minute run as it typically would. ESPN specifically has the program set to air from 12:05 to 12:35 a.m. ET, and it’ll be directly followed by SportsCenter.

There’s another interesting wrinkle to this as well. Inside the NBA isn’t currently slotted to air on October 23, after its network’s second doubleheader of the season. However, the TNT-birthed NBA Tip-Off will precede both doubleheaders.

Additionally, Sports Media Watch notes that Inside doesn’t appear to have another set broadcast until the Christmas Day games. So viewers would theoretically be without the show for over two months. To be fair, Inside’s shortened runtime could just be a placeholder and change at some point in the future. Regardless, though, the notion of less airtime for hosts Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Shaquille O’Neal along with a significant hiatus isn’t sitting all that well with me.

What Have Media Personalities And Corporate Execs Said About Inside The NBA’s Move To ESPN?

For some time now, Charles Barkley has shared his honest thoughts on his Emmy-winning NBA show moving to a new corporate entity. He acknowledged the House of Mouse’s network as a leader in sports media, but he was also unsure as to whether the show would stay the same aesthetically. Ironically, Barkley just recently expressed concern as to whether he and his cohorts would have enough time on the air. On top of that, Sir Charles had also been awaiting specific information on his new work schedule.

Another media maven who has commented on this new chapter for Inside the NBA is sports journalist Bill Simmons. Earlier this year, Simmons didn’t mince words when saying that the talk show’s new network would damage it. Simmons’ logic was based on the fact that unlike TNT, ESPN’s programming is very commercial heavy, and it could cut into Inside’s dialogue-driven approach, which includes wild antics here and there.

Earlier this year, ESPN Inc. President Jimmy Pitaro addressed the prospect of changes being made to Inside the NBA. It was at that time that Pitaro said he didn’t expect major alterations to be made, and he emphasized that the four co-hosts would return. However, it’s hard to feel optimistic, given the new details of the fall schedule. There’s surely a chance that Inside won’t be changed for good. At the moment, as Charles Barkley would say, this just feels “turrible."

After Friends ended in 2004, Jennifer Aniston went on to have a successful movie career with her best films being hits like Marley & Me, Horrible Bosses and Dumplin’. Of course, it's also hard to forget about her iconic role in the 2006 romantic dramedy film The Break-Up, which made more than $100 million at the box office. Now, Aniston is getting real about how she felt about the timing of the offer for that role, which ironically came shortly after her "little separation” from Brad Pitt.

The year that Jennifer Aniston landed the role of a soon-to-be ex in The Break-Up, she was going through the same thing in real life. She and then-husband Brad Pitt announced their separation in 2005 amidst infidelity rumors about Pitt allegedly dating his Mr. and Mrs. Smith co-star Angelina Jolie. While re-watching The Break-Up during a segment for Vanity Fair, Aniston revealed how she felt about being offered the role soon and, apparently, she viewed it as a positive "opportunity." She explained:

I definitely see where Jennifer Aniston is coming from. Considering The Break-Up is about an ex-couple trying to drive each other out of their shared condo, the notion of offering a role like that to an actress going through her own break-up seems awkward.

However, Aniston seemingly found it therapeutic, in a way, to play a character she could resonate with and add a touch of humor to. To that point, Aniston previously busted out a great Brad Pitt divorce comment during the final episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. That comment specifically related to how Break-Up represented a new chapter in her life after her divorce, proving that the end of a marriage doesn’t mean the end of personal growth and renewed joy.

The Peyton Reed-helmed film is already one of Jennifer Aniston’s best movies, but these latest comments make me appreciate it even more. As Aniston rewatched the big-screen comedy for VF, she pointed out the relatable conflict her character and Vince Vaughn’s went through, during which her character wanted her boyfriend to do the dishes while he preferred to play video games. That’s a scenario Aniston believes many couples still go through now, and she also thinks Reed's flick tackles other pain points partners face.

Sure, some viewers may not be over the inevitable split the two characters go through at the end of The Break-Up. However, the movie certainly flips the narrative on the standard rom-com trope of the guy trying to win back his love and succeeding. In real life, that’s not always how it works.

What I appreciate about TBU is that it does a great job showing that while two people may not be together anymore, they can still forge a friendship. And, simultaneously, both can find their own happy endings. In real life, Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt reunited for a Fast Times at Ridgemont High virtual table read in 2021, during which Aniston described her and Pitt as “buddies.” So it seems there's a level of respect between the former spouses.

You would think after going through a “little separation” in real life that it wouldn’t be the best time to star in a movie about a break-up. However, I love that Jennifer Aniston owned her situation and helped make a movie that's still very entertaining.

The “Wayward Sisters” backdoor pilot aired during the 13^th season of Supernatural back in January 2018, focusing on Jody (Kim Rhodes), Donna (Briana Buckmaster), Claire (Kathryn Newton), Alex (Katherine Ramdeen), as well as new characters Patience (Clark Backo) and Kaia (Yadira Guevara-Prip). Despite the intriguing concept and a core squad, The CW passed on moving forward with it. Now, seven long years later, showrunner Andrew Dabb has offered a window into what Wayward Sisters would have looked like, and I feel like mourning all over again. He told TV Insider

All fans really knew about Wayward Sisters around the episode's airing was that Jody and Donna were basically gonna be mentoring a young female group of hunters, with the beginning of Season 13 even setting up that backdoor pilot by introducing Patience and Kaia. It was hard to predict how different or similar to Supernatural the new show would have been, and learning all this years after the fact just makes it suck even worse.

Much more was in the theoretical pipeline for the spinoff, including digging deeper into one aspect of Supernatural in a different way:

Of course, it’s always hard to know if a project will perform well once fans have access, but Wayward Sisters boasted characters that audiences knew and loved, and the backdoor pilot also had a lot of action that likely spoke to what the tone would have been. To this day, I’m still sad that it never happened, though I also wonder how it would have fared at the time if The CW had given it a chance, especially compared to the prequel.

It doesn’t help that it sounds like there was a lot planned for it, and that Dabb is still feeling the hurt as well:

Supernatural did eventually finish the story that would have been explored on Wayward Sisters, so at least that was wrapped up, but it only made fans want the show even more. It’s definitely not the first show to get a backdoor pilot and not move forward, and it won’t be the last. It just sucks that Wayward didn’t get the chance to shine.

Maybe a Wayward Sisters-like show could happen later down the line or a Supernatural revival, but for now, fans will have to imagine what could have been. At the very least, the backdoor pilot is streaming with a Netflix subscription, which is better than nothing.

This is why fans freaked out a bit at recent viral comments from Daredevil: Born Again star Charlie Cox, which implied that the show may end following this second season. However, Cox’s co-star is jumping in to let fans know where things stand.

Needless to say, Cox calling Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again the “final” season got fans talking. While no seasons past Season 2 have been officially announced, neither had their been any confirmation that the show would end after the forthcoming season. This led one fan to specifically seek out Daredevil: Born Again’s other big star to try and get some clarification.

How Vincint D’Onofirio Responded To Panicked Fans

One of the upsides to social media is that sometimes you can interact directly with a famous person and get some real answers to your questions, and that’s what happened with Vincent D’Onofrio after Cox’s comments went viral. Somebody reached out to the Kingpin actor on Twitter and asked if he could confirm the flaim. While D’Onofrio didn’t indicate a third season was happening, he did indicate that it was something that could happen, saying…

Following his initial response regarding Daredevil's potential future, D'Onorio has been inundated with addtional questions from fans about the same clip, and the actor has continued to respond to seemingly every single one, giving roughly the same answer.

If nothing else, word that a third season is at least possible would seem to indicate there’s nothing in the upcoming Season 2 that would necessitate it being a “final” season. While Daredevil: Born Again is arguably the most violent thing you can watch with a Disney+ subscription, the show has been well received so far at it seems likely Marvel may want to keep it going if

Considering that Cox and D’Onofrio have both been intimately involved in everything surrounding Daredevil: Born Again up to this point, it seems unlikely that one would know something the other does not.

Cox may have just used the word “final” because the two seasons of Born Again were created together and tell a single story. That story, as far as we know, will come to an end at the end of the next season, which perhaps is what makes it a “final" season.

Talking with TVLine, Merced opened up about everything from her casting as Hawkgirl in Superman to her forthcoming appearance in HBO's Peacemaker Season 2 to, of course, HBO’s The Last of Us. Then, the interviewer tossed in a curveball from deep inside the fandom trenches: Should Ellie and Abby be shipped? The Alien: Romulus actress’s response was both diplomatic and delightfully unfiltered:

The Dora the Explorer actress is correct. In the game, Abby is very much straight, having had a past relationship with Owen, one of her fellow former Firefly and companions. Still, the second season faced criticism for various pacing issues and diversions from the source material. So, nothing is out of the realm of possibility. I think game fans would be upset, but the Dina performer says it could be cute. She continued:

As charming as a masc–masc pairing might sound, it’s probably not in the cards for these two. As Merced notes, the similarities between Abby and Ellie come from shared trauma — specifically, the loss of their father figures. And here’s where the spoiler warning kicks in: in The Last of Us Season 2 (and in the second game), Abby brutally kills Joel, Ellie’s surrogate father. That’s a long way from the kind of meet-cute most fans are rooting for.

Isabela Merced can currently be seen in Superman, still playing in theaters, and will next appear in her highly anticipated television project, Peacemaker Season 2, premiering August 21 for everyone with an HBO Max subscription.

While fans not-so-patiently wait for upcoming Star Wars movies and TV shows, more information about the last three movies is still trickling out. John Boyega has been open about his disappointments related Finn, specifically related to his use of The Force. During a panel appearance at Fan Expo Boston (via ScreenRant), the 33 year-old actor shared where he thought the story was originally going. In his words:

Well, my FOMO is through the roof. This is a huge departure from the story we saw in the sequel trilogy, but it seems like a pretty thrilling (albeit hypothetical) idea. While Adam Driver's Kylo Ren was set up to be the main antagonist of those movies, seeing Finn and Rey come to blows with a lightsaber duel would have been pretty awesome. Instead, Boyega never picked up a lightsaber after his two battles in The Force Awakens.

Throughout the trilogy it was hinted a number of times that Finn could use The Force. He took to a lightsaber quickly, and could sense where Rey was. But he never actually got trained, with Daisy Ridley's Rey being the main hero and next Jedi of the franchise. And she and Finn never turned against each other the way that Boyega assumed they would.

Personally I'm hoping that Ridley's Rey movie brings back Finn as well, and we get to finally see him starting his Jedi training. The movie is expected to follow her as she started a new Jedi Order, years after The Rise of Skywalker's ending. This seems like a great way to finally give that storyline a big payoff, as well as include another key connection to the previous movies.

Right now not much is know about what that developing project will contain, but Star Wars: New Jedi Order is currently expected to arrive sometime in the 2026 movie release list. But filming will have to start soon if that's going to happen.

It’s a good time to be a Swiftie because not only is Taylor Swift appearing on the New Heights podcast alongside its hosts, her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce, but she has officially announced her new album, The Life of a Showgirl. Aside from the title and color theme, not much is known about it, but there are already loads of brand tie-ins. However, TS 12 has long been speculated, and now eagle-eyed fans have spotted an Easter egg that suggests the pop star has been teasing it for a while.

Of course, any Swiftie knows that Easter eggs are Swift’s thing. Even if you don’t realize there’s an Easter egg or think that it was a long shot, it could very well wind up being a clue, making her song “Mastermind” as accurate as ever. Even though the album was just announced, fans are already going back to previous albums and interviews to see what hints she’s dropped. X user auniverseaway13 pointed out an outfit that she wore in the “Bejeweled” music video that is like a showgirl outfit, and even though it was almost three years ago, I'm convinced that this was a wink to TS 12:

Even if the only significance of the outfit was that it was bejeweled in reference to the Midnights'song, as some fans are pointing out, you can’t help but think that there was at least some planning behind it. While I personally don’t take the time to look at everything that Swift has released and try to figure out if this or that was an Easter egg, I do love hearing theories and seeing what the hardcore fans are able to uncover, regardless of whether something was meant to be an Easter egg or not.

It's also not surprising that fans are going back to the Midnights era when it comes to Easter eggs for Showgirl, as people have been guessing for a while that the “Bejeweled” video hinted at what’s to come due to the different colored elevator buttons. It may not exactly match up with what’s been released, but it is pretty close.

The potential Easter eggs for Taylor Swift's latest project don't stop there either. There’s the orange and green outfits she wore on The Eras Tour, which have also been presumed to be Easter eggs. The orange door has had people guessing for ages. And let's not forget the showgirl-themed staging for "I Can Do It With A Broken Heart."

Also, as the quote in the tweet above alludes to, we know Swift loves to tease us like this. On The Tonight Show, she talked about her adoration for Easter eggs and straight-up asked if it was possible to hint at something three years in advance. So, I wouldn't be shocked if she really has been giving us Showgirl Easter eggs since Midnights, which, I'll have you note, came out three years ago.

So, whether or not Taylor Swift has truly been planning The Life of a Showgirl for at least three years, I’m just excited that there’s finally a new album to look forward to. A release date has not yet been announced, but that should be coming soon. In the meantime, look out for Easter eggs...because she's proven time and time again that they really could be anywhere.

During Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex-trafficking trial, prosecutors summoned various witnesses, including a few notable celebrities, to take the stand. For example, Combs’ ex, Cassie Ventura, testified, with the singer sharing claims about her relationship with him. Another hip hop icon, Kid Cudi, testified as well due to his connection to two alleged situations involving Diddy. Now, months after that legal matter, Cudi is opening up about what it was like being in the court room and having to be in proximity to Combs himself.

Kid Cudi – whose real name is Scott Mescudi – was called upon to testify against Sean Combs in late May 2025. Years ago, Mescudi was apparently involved in a brief romantic relationship with the aforementioned Cassie. With that, Cudi purportedly became the target of two separate attacks that were supposedly orchestrated by Combs. Mescudi spoke to CBS Mornings (as shared to X) about his day in court, and he explained to the news outlet that the process wasn’t easy for him:

Cassie and Diddy dated off and on between 2007 and 2018 though, the former briefly became involved with Kid Cudi in 2011. It was also in 2011 that Cudi reportedly had his home broken into, with that situation apparently coming on the heels of a contentious discussion between Diddy and Cassie. In early 2012, there was another situation involving a car exploding in front of Cudi’s house, with the belief being that it was an act of arson. Cudi testified in regard to both matters while on the stand.

While the “Day 'n' Nite” performer apparently wasn’t keen on testifying, he ultimately “just wanted to be there for [Cassie]” and to “help her out.” Amid his CBS interview, Cudi went on to discuss the experience of sharing space with Combs. Cudi explained why it was “weird” but also shared why he currently has no regrets about his time in the courtroom:

Shortly after Scott Mescudi provided his testimony, he was chided by another rapper – Kanye West. Via a social media post, West stated that he wished “Cudi hadn’t testified against Puff.” It was West’s belief that African Americans should “need to not be locked in white systems.” From there, West (whose official name is Ye) extended prayers to Diddy and his family. Those sentiments matched up with comments that West shared prior in which he compared himself to Diddy. Also, even before that, Ye phoned Diddy while he was in prison to show his support for him amid his legal woes.

When it comes to those issues, Sean Combs is now facing prison time after receiving a mixed verdict. The man formerly known as Puff Daddy was convicted on two counts of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. Combs did, however, avoid charges related to sex-trafficking and racketeering (RICO). Now, the “Bad Boy for Life” performer is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn ahead of his sentencing on October 3. As for Kid Cudi, he’s seemingly moving on after testifying.

The Boys finished filming the final season in early July, with co-star Erin Moriarty reflecting on Starlight’s journey almost immediately, and some celebratory Emmy nominations being announced a couple of weeks later. It took Antony Starr a little over a month to bring all of his feelings out about closing the book on Homelander — presumably a book about nursing — but he shared quite a few heartfelt feelings on Instagram alongside a series of bloody and candid behind-the-scenes pics.

Starr began by generally addressing the Boys’ creative team being able to bring a show like this to life without any obstacles…well, except for those two industry-halting incidents, that is. In his words:

The actor also pulled focus in on Homelander himself, a character whose actions are almost always repugnant and shockingly skeezy, and yet we have to love him anyway. (Partially due to the threat of being laser-eyed out of existence otherwise.) Starr addressed the joy of portraying the all-powerful Supe, saying:

Series creator Eric Kripke, who is responsible for the final season's big Supernatural reunion between Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins, understandably got a special shout-out in Antony Starr's farewell post. The fact that he straight up says the chapter is closed is kinda depressing, since I'm still holding out hope that he'll show up somehow in the upcoming spinoff Vought Uprising, as well as in Gen V Season 2. (But the latter is premiering before The Boys.)

Starr ended his post by giving thanks to all The Boys' fans watching the show with Amazon Prime subscriptions and keeping it atop Prime Video's Top 10 list. As he put it:

What Was Brandon Blackstock’s Relationship Status Ahead Of His Death?

According to recent reports, Brandon Blackstock lived a relatively quiet life in Montana before he passed away. The former talent manager also reportedly spent time with his family amid his illness yet, up until now, no details about any significant others. Now, however, Blackstock’s obituary, which has been shared by Axelson Funeral & Cremation Services, reveals that he was romantically involved with Brittney Marie Jones – an ex-employee of Kelly Clarkson. The obituary lays out Blackstock’s relationship with Jones as follows:

From 2016 to 2018, Jones worked as a production assistant for the “Since U Been Gone” singer in Nashville, per People. Based on Jones’ Linkedin account, she became an executive management assistant for Blackstock in late 2018. However, she also continued to handle professional affairs for Clarkson. Jones’ career role apparently changed again around the time that Clarkson filed for divorce, as she became an exec. assistant for his ranch in Montana.

As of this writing, Britney Marie Jones has not publicly acknowledged the death of her partner. Meanwhile, Reba McEntire penned some sweet words while reflecting on her stepson.

Reba McEntire Honors Brandon Blackstock With A Tribute On Social Media

The Reba star was married to Narvel Blackstock, Brandon’s father, from 1989 to 2015. Even after her split from Narvel, McEntire remained close to the Blackstock family. With that, after Brandon’s death, the Voice coach took to Instagram to share a carousel of photos depicting her and her stepchild through the years. Additionally, the country music icon dropped this sentimental message:

Celebrities – like John Legend, Wynonna Judd and Kristin Chenoweth – subsequently flooded Reba McEntire’s comment section with condolences. All in all, McEntire’s bond with her extended family has seemingly been strong over the past several years. McEntire even expressed support for both Brandon Blackstock and Kelly Clarkson (who’s still a friend of hers) while the pair were in the midst of their continued divorce proceedings in 2021.

It goes without saying that this has seemingly been a difficult time for the Blackstock family, though it has been lovely to see the tributes and words of support that have been shared. As time goes on, hopefully, Reba McEntire, Brittany Marie Jones and anyone else who may need to grieve are given the space to do so. Despite the movie hitting theaters back in August of 2024, It Ends With Us continues to make headlines. Blake Lively's lawsuit against Wayfarer Studios began a long legal battle, with Justin Baldoni filing his own defamation case, which named both Lively and Ryan Reynolds. Pop star Taylor Swift's name has also come up during these proceedings, and it turns out that the movie's director also requested money specifically to battle Swifties online.

Taylor Swift being roped into the lawsuit has only gotten more eyes on the matter (and reportedly put a strain on her friendship with Lively). Most recently TMZ acquired legal documents, where Baldoni's lawyers in Texas requested a new sum of money in order to deal with online blockback from Swifties. Part of the e-mail attached reads:

Talk about a ton of money. Considering how many months this legal battle has already been raging on, this attempt to get Baldoni $30k per month could be a significant payday for the actor/director. And it's yet another way that Swift is being brought into their ongoing legal saga. One can only imagine how the "Shake It Off" singer feels about being named yet again.

It's unclear how long this back and forth between the two stars of It Ends With Us (which is streaming with a Netflix subscription) will go on. But it's clear that neither of the celebrities' legal teams are intending on giving up the fight. So we should probably buckle up for more viral updates.

This request for monthly funds come shortly after the judge tossed Baldoni's defamation case out, which was a major legal victory for the Gossip Girl star. But it doesn't look like the It Ends With Us director is too discouraged, as his team is continuing to fight for him and file new requests related to the situation with Blake Lively.

While Taylor Swift wasn't involved in It Ends With Us, she continues to loom large over the lawsuits associated with the book to screen adaptation. This highlights just how popular she is, and the passion of her devoted fanbase. Although whether or not the Swifties are actually mobilizing to defend Blake Lively remains to be seen. Indeed, the Another Simple Favor star hasn't exactly come out clean in the court of public opinion.

It Ends With Us is on Netflix now, and the litigation related to the movie continues on. While Blake Lively has upcoming projects expected on the 2026 movie release list and beyond, Baldoni seemingly doesn't have anything lined up.

With a career that has included massive blockbusters like the Dune movies and an Academy Award nomination for playing Bob Dylan, a lot of people are going to have their eyes on Timothée Chalamet's upcoming projects. What's next for the actor is the upcoming A24 movie called Marty Supreme, and the first look at the film already has my attention.

Timothée Chalamet's next movie had already turned heads, if for no other reason than the actor's look, sporting a pencil mustache and looking almost like a young Walt Disney. We knew the film, from Josh Safdie would probably be something to talk about, but I wasn't expecting this.

Marty Supreme Looks Sweet And Serious In Equeal Measure

Marty Supreme somehow looks incredibly sweet and fun, and quite dramatic all at once. The new trailer shows us a guy who is an incredibly great table tennis player, and is romancing Gwyneth Paltrow (among others), not exactly things that require high drama.

But table tennis is a serious game in this movie. Marty Supreme usn't just a great player, he's trying to put the entire sport on the map, and he appears to be incredibly dedicated to doing this. I've never been more interested in ping pong in my life.

It has the vibe of a "feel good" movie that sees Marty Supreme as a character chasing a dream, but at other moments we see the character being threatened by people, appearing to carry on a pair of personal relationships, and in one brief shot we see what appears to be some sort of explosion.

Perhaps it shouldn't be that surprising. Marty Supreme is being directed by Josh Safdie, one half of the brotherly duo that brought us Uncut Gems. That movie also gave us moments with a character who was both incredibly charismatic and yet, frequently terrible, who got in over his head.

It's possible we could see a similar story here. Timothée Chalamet may be playing our title character, the man we will follow through the film, but it's far from clear from all this whether he's really the "good guy" or not.

Gwyneth Paltrow's Return To Movies Is Being Left Somewhat Mysterious

One of the reasons that Marty Supreme is noteworthy is that it will mark a major return to the screen for Gwyneth Paltrow. Her roles have been few and far between of late.

While we see her character in the trailer, and she has second billing behind Chalamet, she isn't in the trailer all that much, leaving details of her role a bit of a mystery. That said, we do know that the two characters will have some sort of romance as Paltrow has already talked about the sex scenes in Marty Supreme between them.

Timothée Chalamet didn't go home with an Oscar this year. Based on the first look at his new film, it looks like he might have another shot at the coveted award next year.

I wanted to be excited from the jump, but there’s one thing I needed to know before officially adding it to my watchlist.

I Had An Immediate Concern About A New Horror Movie Called Good Boy

If you’re an animal lover, you probably already know where I’m coming from. Upon hearing about Good Boy, I was instantly worried if I’d have to watch the poor dog at the center of it die, because I absolutely dislike when films feature violence towards animals. I’ve even been one to go on the website doesthedogdie.com if I know a pupperino is in a movie to make sure I know what I’m getting myself into. If you haven’t checked out the website, it breaks down whether dogs live or die in movies along with some context – such as whether you can skip it, or if it won’t be shown on screen, but just implied.

While I don’t like spoilers, I knew this was going to eat at me regarding Good Boy until I knew, and thankfully the movie was already screened at SXSW earlier this year. Let’s get into that, but given this is a SPOILER, just be mindful the answer is ahead. But no, I won’t spoil the movie’s actual detailed ending.

Once I Found The Answer, It Made Me Want To Check It Out More

Per a few sources who watched the movie, including this Instagram post, I can confirm that the canine hero of Good Boy does not die in the 2025 horror movie. I don’t know any other ideas past that, which I’m happy about, but that’s enough for me to sit back and know that the movie isn’t going to end in some gruesome death for its cute canine.

I also saw that the movie currently has a 95% on Rotten Tomatoes from 20 reviews (as of this writing), so I’m definitely more confident that this unique premise is going to be effective as well. And while there are a lot of great movies with talking dogs, this is not one of them. It also doesn’t seem like the dog in Good Boy, who is named Indy, will not make our list of the meanest pets from movies and TV shows. (I truly hope we never get a Cujo remake, by the way!)

Aside from the creepy horror elements sure to be present throughout the film, it seems like Indy will be trying to save his owner from the entities he can see and his owner cannot. Of course, it’s hard for dogs to communicate with the language gap, so I can see myself siding with the doggo and rooting for him.

Anyways, we can look forward to Good Boy coming to theaters on October 3. Until then, you can definitely enjoy horror this summer, especially with this past weekend’s box office win for Weapons.

Just like he did in 2004’s I, Robot, Alan Tudyk took part in Superman playing a friendly robot. This one was simply named Four… or at least, that’s how he’s known for most of the 2025 movie. By the end, however, he adopted the name Gary for himself, adding another heartfelt moment to enjoy following the Man of Steel’s over Lex Luthor. As it turns out, though, it wasn’t Superman writer and director James Gunn who came up with the name change, but rather Tudyk himself.

The Resident Alien actor revealed this while speaking with The Direct, first by explaining how he saw Four as the perfected Superman Robot that Clark Kent built in the Fortress of Solitude after the first three didn’t turn out well. That’s why Four is the leader of the automatons that followed. However, Tudyk wanted to infuse his character with a little more personality, which led to this:

Ad-libbing is known to happen during the moviemaking process, but I’m surprised this particular creative beat in Superman came from Alan Tudyk off the top of his head rather than James Gunn including it in the script. It sounds like the filmmaker was initially hesitant to do this, but with lead actor David Corenswet throwing his support behind the idea, Gunn was willing to give it a shot. It ended up paying off, although there had to be talks later about if including Four naming himself Gary in the final cut was worth it. Tudyk continued:

Alan Tudyk also mentioned that he didn’t learn that the Gary moment made it into Superman until the movie’s world premiere. Even then, he missed hearing when Superman acknowledged the robot’s new name, and it fellow Firefly alum and Guy Gardner actor Nathan Fillion who clued him in. Hopefully, we’ll see more of Gary if the Fortress of Solitude is revisited in the DCU, be it in a Superman sequel, next year’s Supergirl or some other upcoming DC movie.

Although Superman is still playing in theaters, you’ll be able to purchase the film digitally starting this Friday, August 15. It will then arrive on Ultra-HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray and DVD September 23. There’s been no announcement yet about when Superman will become streamable with an HBO Max subscription.

Kylie Jenner took some time out of her Vampire Diaries binge this week to celebrate turning 28, and one of her birthday activities involved the makeup mogul and her friends painting Jenner’s iconic “Rise and Shine” meme circa 2019. Kylie shared her final product to Instagram Stories, and wow:

To be honest, the sun part of the painting looks pretty good. It’s abstract enough, and the colors are all blending well together. I think a lot of effort went into her craft, as another image showed Kylie Jenner hard at work:

Look, I know when I tackle a “sip-and-paint” project, things get a little … sloppier toward the end, so maybe that’s what happened when Kylie Jenner attempted to paint her own face. Faces are hard to paint anyway, and I’m certain I wouldn’t have done any better. We can’t all be North West with her endless buckets of talent! The paint party was just one part of the youngest KarJenner sibling’s birthday celebrations. Khloé Kardashian shared images from Kylie’s recent cone bra photoshoot, paying tribute to her little sis in a lengthy caption where she said how proud she was of her “soulmate sister.”

Kris Jenner’s partner Corey Gamble, meanwhile dropped some big bucks on his gift for Kylie, giving her bottles of wine from the year she was born. Other festivities included an upscale dinner party at Kendall Jenner’s house and multiple cakes (undoubtedly including a viral Kardashian cake from Hansen’s, which — despite rumors — does not cost $7,000).

All jokes aside pertaining to Kylie Jenner’s painting skills, I think it’s a pretty fun idea to paint such an iconic image from her past. The Kylie Cosmetics boss went viral in 2019 when she was giving a tour of her home and sang, “Rise and shine!” in a strange voice to wake up her daughter Stormi. The short clip spread like wildfire and was remixed over and over by fans. Kylie even ended up making “Rise and Shine” merch, because of course she did.

Fans of the famous family are currently waiting for an update on The Kardashians Season 7, which was expected to hit the 2025 TV schedule this fall. However, there’s been no update from Hulu since the reality show was initially renewed for Seasons 6 and 7 last July. The sixth season premiered in February of this year, and all of the first six seasons are available to stream with a Hulu subscription while we wait for more.

FX’s Alien: Earth has finally landed on the 2025 TV schedule, bringing with it a new chapter in the Alien movie timeline spearheaded by Fargo’s Noah Hawley and the show’s impressive cast. While it seems like the new sci-fi series will deviate from the canon somewhat, there is one aspect of Ridley Scott’s original classic that came back this time: practical Xenomorphs.

Ahead of the new Hulu arrival’s debut, CinemaBlend sat down with members of the Alien: Earth cast to talk about what it was like sharing the screen with one of the scariest movie monsters of all time. When asked if there was a period of adjustment working with an actor in a Xenomorph suit, star Alex Lawther (who plays soldier and medic CJ “Hermit") opened up about how wild it was going from seeing the Xenomorph as something trying to kill his character to a guy from New Zealand hanging out on set:

Running from a deadly stowaway on the space vessel Maginot after it crash lands on Earth one moment and then bumping into “a guy from New Zealand” the next? I'd say that had to be totally trippy.

Adding onto this experience of the stuntman playing the Xenomorph, Sydney Chandler, who plays a hybrid human/synthetic and CJ’s sister, recounted how “calm” and “casual” the guy looked between takes:

The mental image of a Xenomorph chomping down on a celery stalk is something that’s now stuck in your head. Though they didn’t say one way or another, I'm sure you're wondering the same thing we are: if the creature’s iconic piston-like inner mouth popped out to grab the stalk from the veggie tray.

Having a Xenomorph played by an actor could make things awkward in craft services and all, but taking the franchise back to its roots in this regard is one of several nice touches by Noah Hawley and company. You may recall that Ridley Scott cast Nigerian visual artist and actor Bolaji Badejo to play the original alien back in Alien, and that helped make it one of the best sci-fi movies of all time.

How Alien: Earth will stack up to the movies is anyone’s guess at this point, but critics have had great things to say about the FX on Hulu series so far. In fact, it was still rocking a 94 % on Rotten Tomatoes on the day of its premiere.

The first two episodes of Alien: Earth are now streaming on Hulu, and the remaining installments will be released every Tuesday until the Season 1 finale in late September. We won't get to see a Xenomorph eat a celery stick (or watch a Facehugger latch to a meat plate), but we can expect some intense sci-fi horror.

I spoke to the cast of King of the Hill at San Diego Comic-Con and asked Huss if there were any bittersweet feelings about having to pass the torch from Kahn. Without hesitation, the voice actor, who had previously voiced the character and others for the entirety of the previous series, explained why he wasn't upset about losing the role:

King of the Hill did the same thing many other animated shows have done before it, as other shows evaluated whether it was appropriate to have white actors voice minorities of a different cultural background. It remains a topic of debate in the animation world in 2025, and it feels the series and its cast made a statement about where they stood on the matter.

Toby Huss was happy to step aside, and with the vacant position left open, now voices Dale on the back half of the latest season available with a Hulu subscription. Connie and Minh actress Lauren Tom spoke about how she felt about Huss stepping away from Kahn, and applauded him on his attitude throughout it:

It did make sense, and much like how King of the Hill figured out what to do with Bobby's voice now that he's an adult, the series found a way to keep one of its prominent contributing voice actors in the mix. It also set a precedent for how casting will go with future characters, assuming new characters join the series along the way.

This does raise the question of what will happen with John Redcorn, given the death of voice actor Jonathan Joss. It's unclear if King of the Hill will find a new voice actor to play the character, or if it'll avoid featuring John Redcorn as it has done with other characters whose voice actors have passed away.

There has been some mixed reception online regarding the voice casting decisions King of the Hill made. The gist is that many don't believe Ronny Chieng sounds enough like the original voice of Kahn, and it's jarring for some classic fans to hear the new voice. Again, this is nothing new to animation; however, comparisons always get made when new voice actors take on a role.

On the other side of the coin, I believe that when listening to Dale's voice in the newest episodes of King of the Hill, he sounds more like the classic version of the character when Toby Huss is voicing him. Voice acting can be strange in that way, as almost everyone's voice changes with age.

For that reason, I defer to what makes the actors happy, and if Huss is fine with the way things are, I don't see much reason to complain. Of course, I had Rick and Morty to help me come to this realization a while back, so I'd understand if it'll take others longer to adjust.

King of the Hill's latest season is available to stream over on Hulu right now. I'm eager to learn if there are more episodes on the way, so I hope we get an announcement about that soon.

John Candy: I Like Me has seemingly been something of a passion project for Colin Hanks, and it’s not hard to understand why. As a child, Hanks became acquainted with Candy via his father, Tom Hanks, and stepmother Rita Wilson, who co-starred with Candy in Splash and Volunteers, respectively. Colin has spoken about knowing Candy while growing up and spending time with him. During a recent interview, Colin said that while those interactions played out so long ago, he certainly hasn’t forgotten what he took from them:

Since the Spaceballs icon’s passing in 1994, various stories have been told about him, and they paint a picture of a man who was as kind as he was funny. Uncle Buck’s Laurie Metcalf gushed about her late co-star, making him sound like a real sweetheart. It’s also been said that the Canadian comedian would perform bits with fans when approached on the street. Of course, like many people, Candy was very multifaceted and, based on what Colin Hanks told Collider, the documentary will be as well:

John Candy had his share of struggles over the course of his life. Not only did he contend with health issues related to his weight but also dealt with anxiety. The thought of having to see such topics tackled in a documentary does indeed seem sad. However, the inclusion of such material is a reflection of Colin Hanks and his collaborators’ commitment to telling Candy’s story in an honest way. It’s quite admirable, and I’m hopeful that the film will be all the better for that raw approach.

On the subject of collaborators, Ryan Reynolds is also a producer on the documentary. A Canadian like the film’s subject, Reynolds wanted to make the doc as he viewed it as an opportunity to “talk to storytellers about a beautiful man, who was a beautiful storyteller.” The Planes, Trains and Automobiles’ kids have also been collaborating with Reynolds and co. to make the film happen.

I’m not totally sure I’m ready to see what Colin Hanks, Ryan Reynolds and their team have in store for John Candy: I Like Me. While some parts may be painful, those parts combined with the more lighthearted content should combine to make a quality doc. The Candy-centered movie is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 4, and it’ll be available to stream later this fall with a Prime Video subscription.

Freakier Friday’s current worldwide box office haul is reportedly $46.5 million, per Box Office Mojo, and it allegedly was made with a production budget of $45 million. So, the movie has already made back the money spent on it, though I bet that’s before its marketing budget. It’s an impressive score for Freakier Friday and signals it’s looking like a commercial win for the House of Mouse after being the No. 1 comedy in America over the weekend! Jamie Lee Curtis also shared the news:

Curtis declared “WOMEN GET THINGS DONE!” in the Instagram post sharing the good news for Freakier Friday. The movie hit theaters this past weekend to $29 million in domestic box office dollars behind horror movie Weapons claiming the No. 1 spot. That’s over $10 million more than any other comedies this year like The Naked Gun, which opened at $16.8 million on the domestic front, and One of the Them Days, which started off its run with $11.8 million.

That makes Freakier Friday the best live-action comedy opening of 2025 following a positive critical response, including CinemaBlend's Freakier Friday review and fans reactions, like our own Riley Utley applauding the movie over its amazing callbacks. The movie reunites Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan to play mother/daughter Tess and Anna Coleman two decades after they first swapped bodies. This time, they switch with two teenagers, who are determined to break up Anna’s wedding and, in the process, link back with Chad Michael Murray’s Jake.

Freakier Friday was born out of Jamie Lee Curtis asking Disney if they could make the sequel after she met tons of fans who wanted to see a follow-up while touring the world for the Halloween movies. It’s helmed by Nisha Ganatra from a script by Jordan Weiss, and is produced by Curtis alongside Kristen Burr and Andrew Gunn.

Of course, what’s perhaps more impressive to a movie’s success is making a profit past its budget. This coming weekend, the only big release is Nobody 2, which is an action comedy, but also rated R, as opposed to Freakier Friday leaning toward a more family friendly demographic and toward women. So it’s very much possible the Disney comedy could continue have another solid week at the box office and become even a bigger success. We’ll keep you updated as the coming weekend plays out.

His & Hers, the latest collaboration between the two loyal Hallmark actors, was voted as fans’ favorite movie of 2024. Brennan Elliott took to Instagram with a lengthy post to show gratitude not just to the viewers, but to his co-star. He said he considers himself “so blessed” to have worked with Lacey Chabert on 10 movies, but their personal connection means even more. He wrote, in part:

Brennan Elliott called Lacey Chabert “one of his best friends in the whole world,” and it’s obvious that she really made an impact on him and his children. It seems that love is reciprocated, too, as his frequent co-star responded to his kind words in the comments, writing:

Brennan Elliott’s wife Camilla Row passed away in March after a long battle with cancer. She was first diagnosed in 2018, but Elliott first spoke publicly about it in 2022, when her cancer came back and she received a Stage 4 diagnosis.

We’re all looking forward to another movie starring Brennan Elliott and Lacey Chabert, but for now I really just hope Elliott is taking the time he and his kids need after their devastating loss.

As for Lacey Chabert, we won’t have to wait too long before we see her on the 2025 TV schedule again. She’s returning this fall to celebrate … Halloween? A third movie in the actress’ Haul Out the Holly series is coming soon, titled (appropriately) Haul Out the Halloween, which will see the residents of Evergreen Lane getting into the spooky season spirit. Stay tuned for a premiere date.

Zach Cregger's Weapons is a film that deliciously and horrifically plays with multiple perspectives. There is Justine (Julia Garner), the teacher who has become a vortex of blame since 17 of her students disappeared. There's Archer (Josh Brolin), a father whose life is upended by his son going missing. There's Paul (Alden Ehrenreich), a cop and ex of Justine who commits an assault while on the job. There's James (Austin Abrams), the meth head thief whom Paul assaults. There's Marcus (Benedict Wong), the elementary school principal. And lastly, there's Alex (Cary Christopher), the only kid in Justine’s class who didn’t disappear.

Arguably, the only important character whose full story isn't told by the new horror movie is the tale of the sinister Aunt Gladys, brilliantly played by Amy Madigan – but an upcoming project may fill that gap.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, there have been discussions between New Line Cinema, Warner Bros. and Zach Cregger about a prequel movie that would explore the origins of Aunt Gladys. There presently isn't a script or a deal in place, but there was a chapter in the original screenplay for Weapons that the writer/director decided to excise to cut down the movie's length.

I can understand being of two minds about this news. On the one hand, Aunt Gladys is a terrifying villain in Weapons, and there is a risk that comes with a movie overexposing its villain. That being said, Zach Cregger does such an amazing job fleshing out all of the other characters in his horror epic, so one could effectively make the argument that Gladys got the short end of the stick. I love the film (as expressed in my five-star CinemaBlend review), but I also think that a prequel story could be told that adds a whole new layer to the experience.

Of course, it's not simply because of creative potential that this project is being discussed: it's because Weapons has come out of the gate as a big box office success story. The original script inspired a Hollywood bidding war, but acquisition and budget totaled just a reported $38 million (per Deadline), and it made $43.5 million in its first three days domestically ($70-plus million worldwide). Big ticket sales are always going to inspire sequel talks.

Exactly when Zach Cregger could potentially make a Weapons prequel is also a question that doesn't presently have an answer. While his latest film was only just released this past Friday, he is well into development of his Resident Evil reboot, which is scheduled to arrive in theaters next fall (September 18, 2025 to be specific). He has also written a sci-fi spec script titled Flood and has been working on a project called Henchman that is in the pipeline at DC Studios.

My fingers are crossed that this prequel will get made, and we'll keep you up to date with details about the potential project as new information becomes available.

Of course, I shouldn’t be that surprised. Taylor Swift is one of the most famous names in the world, and whenever something like a new album happens, it’s basically always a cultural phenomenon. Check out what M&Ms posted:

When The Life Of A Showgirl was announced on Tuesday, fans were given the album’s title and a blurred-out green cover with a glittery orange lock on TaylorSwift.com. Here is the famed chocolate candy already tying into the album in its own way by promoting the orange version, saying “ready for the next era” and having the M&Ms aligned into a lock like the marketing thus far.

Is this an actual collaboration between Swift and M&M’s? I have no idea, but it’s certainly a clever way to get Swifties reaching for the candy. Here’s another one:

On a smaller scale, Half Price Books also shared its logo on Tuesday with it now being glittery and having the same shade of green. The post capped off their post with these emojis: “❤️‍🔥😏😆”. The plant protein business Vuum also used Taylor Swift’s new colors for its own latest post:

I think glittery orange might have just become the color of the year thanks to Ms. Taylor Swift. During the singer’s record-breaking Eras Tour, fans actually noticed an orange door showing up during shows, and it started speculation that it had something to do with her next album over a year ago.

Swift even started wearing the shade at some shows, along with it being worn by other dancers toward the end of the tour's run. And as it turns out, fans were very much right about orange meaning something big! For a long time, we thought her next album would be Reputation (Taylor’s Version), but now that she owns all her music, this makes way more sense. Now, even a credit union is using the color in its social media marketing:

Prior to pre-orders for The Life Of A Showgirl popping up on Swift’s website, the official social team Taylor Nation posted photos of Swift in the orange shade on the Eras Tour with the caption “Thinking about when she said ‘See you next era…’ ❤️‍🔥”, which has been referenced in a lot of these brand tie-ins. Taylor Swift’s appearance on the New Heights podcast with Travis and Jason Kelce is coming on Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET. There I think we’ll get more details about perhaps what the cover actually looks like, or when the latest Taylor Swift album is set to come out.

What Did Orlando Bloom Say About Losing 30 Lbs For The Cut?

It’s possible that actors have been losing/gaining weight for roles since acting became a profession, and it almost always leads to the talent in question receiving a lot of notice for their dedication. Though we’ve seen the newly single Orlando Bloom appear in movies as everything from a pirate to an elf, and a 19th century Australian outlaw to a prince in the ancient city of Troy, none of those roles have really required an enormous physical transformation.

When speaking with People about his new film, The Cut (where he stars alongside Outlander lead Caitríona Balfe), Bloom, who portrays an ex-boxer training for a comeback, noted that while he figured losing 30 lbs would be hard, there were some aspects he simply wasn’t prepared for. He said the undertaking was “definitely not something to try at home,” (meaning without health pros helping you) and continued:

Wow. In all the times I’ve seen thespians like the frequently transformative Oscar winning star of The Fighter, Christian Bale, lose and gain for film parts (which he’s already stopped doing so much), I don’t think I’ve really heard about the “mental toll” that it takes. Certainly, anyone who’s ever tried to lose weight, especially a significant amount, will know that it can be very hard (as it is for those who want to get bigger but can’t seem to put on pounds), the emotional aspects of it for an actor have never been top of mind for me.

Channing Tatum (who usually shows off a very buff, Magic Mike-esque physique) recently opened up about his own quick back-and-forth with gaining muscle/beefing up/losing roughly 50 lbs for three different roles in a short period of time, and though he thanked the health pros who helped him, he didn’t mention what he had to go through mentally to get it done. Similarly, Bale’s Ford v. Ferrari co-star Matt Damon also spoke out about how “unhealthy” some of his dietary changes for parts have been, but without going into his emotional state during that time.

The Black Hawk Down actor went further when talking about how these changes impacted him, and, honestly, it sounds beyond stressful:

Let’s see: obsessive thoughts, anxiety, paranoia, lack of sleep…I think I would have needed therapy just to deal with his weight loss for this movie! Luckily, it sounds like he came through the process and was able to recover a sense of normalcy after being so dedicated to his work.

Across the course of the Marvel movies in order, we’ve seen nearly innumerable actors bring some of our favorite comic book characters to life, and many of them will continue doing so well beyond the 2025 movies schedule. However, some stars have had complaints about leading MCU films, but Guardians of the Galaxy villain-turned-good guy Karen Gillan recently explained why she has no plans of ever being counted among that number.

What Did Karen Gillan Say About Starring In The MCU?

Even though starring in a blockbuster franchise like the Marvel Cinematic Universe can lead to long-time guaranteed (and very large) pay days for many actors, there are some drawbacks. Pedro Pascal (who led The Fantastic Four: First Steps as Reed Richards and will return in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday) has talked about how taking on each of his franchise gigs has been “scarier” than the last, and (of course) there’s all that “cult”-like secrecy and security noted by Karen Gillan’s Guardians co-star, Zoe Saldaña.

When speaking with Photobook Magazine, though, Gillan said that for all of the potential stress that goes along with being a major player in such a big-budget franchise with long-established IP, she’d never complain about being involved in things like the MCU for one big reason. She said:

Something that movie lovers can often forget about superhero movies is that the best of them are always able to give viewers something we can relate to, despite their often otherworldly, action-packed plots. Nebula was hardly a one-note bad guy, with a lot of her early actions being attributed to how she was forcibly trained by Thanos (and alongside adopted sister Gamora) from childhood, leading to pretty much all of that “trauma” that Gillan had time to “explore” on screen.

It’s understandable, though, that not everyone would have quite the same experience. Zachary Levi (who appeared in the middle two Thor movies before leading Shazam! and its sequel) admitted to enjoying his DC work much more than his time in Marvel, because his character in the latter “didn’t really do all that much.” Meanwhile, Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth has opened up about smaller irritants like the “exhausting” process of recording sound effects for fight scenes.

The mom of baby Clementine has already said that she’s willing to bring Nebula back at some point, should she be asked to do so, because “it's so much fun working in the Marvel world,” and it sounds like a lot of that has to do with how rewarding portraying the character has been. As Gillan added:

While we have no clue whether or not we’ll get another appearance from the Jumanji 4 actor’s Nebula in a future Marvel project, at least we can rest easy knowing that she’ll jump at the chance to dive back in, given her enjoyment of what’s come before.

Some Of The Emergencies That'll Be On 9-1-1: Nashville Sound Wild

Up to this point, few details had been revealed about the exact first-responder situations that will be handled on the show, aside from a teaser previewing a fire tornado. Thankfully, Raisani finally revealed some of the "crazy emergencies while speaking to TV Insider. He specifically mentioned two, and I'm already feeling a bit anxious:

I'm not that surprised that Nashville will feature some major and crazy moments from the jump. After all, I'd imagine that Rashad Raisani and co. want to match the intensity of the 9-1-1 franchise's crazy emergencies. (I mean, that plane crisis from the mothership show isis hard to top.)

Still, the Airstream trailer situation sounds intense, and I'm already wincing at the thought of seeing someone impaled on a water tower. For Raisani's part, he seems very keen on upping the ante after showrunning Lone Star, which ended earlier this year. All in all, it sounds like viewers won't be left wanting when it comes to true thrills on Nashville. However, based on Raisani's other tease about the show, emergency-related drama isn't all that's in store.

Nashville’s EP Mentioned Two Major Shows While Teasing The 9-1-1 Spinoff

Obviously, with the show being set in the 9-1-1 universe, it’s to expected that that Nashville shares with share plenty of similarities with its two predecessors in certain respects. However, Rashad Raisani also revealed that this series will be a bit more dramatic than its sister shows. And, if you want an indication as to what he's going for, read on to see the two high-profile drama series Raisani's looked to for guidance:

Not only are Succession and Dynasty major shows, but they both have intricate soap opera elements to them. Of course, both 9-1-1 and Lone Star are filled with subjects related to romance, mental health and more. However, the shows Raisani mentioned have a lot of camp, and a similar vibe could make Nashville a very fun watch. Additionally, the cited drama shows deal heavily with power dynamics that are interesting and over-the-top. Considering that Nashville is set at the busiest firehouse in the city, power struggles could be quite entertaining to see on the show.

After hearing these latest teases, I'm feeling even more confident in the notion that 9-1-1: Nashville isn't just a copy of its sister programs. It seems there will be some keen elements that make it stand out. Of course, we'll just have to wait and see if that proves to be the case, but I'm pumped over the prospect of an ample amount of intense action and soapy drama. The upcoming 9-1-1 spinoff premieres on Thursday, October 9 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC, and it'll be streaming the next day with a Hulu subscription.

Just recently, the 29-year-old British actor appeared in an episode of Icebreakers, a series from Men’s Health UK. Amid promoting his non-alcoholic beer, Bero, Tom Holland submerged himself in ice-cold water alongside the show’s host. When Holland emerged, his abs were revealed through his soaking wet shirt. The man seems to have been putting some serious work in, and the video, which has been posted to Instagram, is available to check out down below:

Those abs are serious! I have to give the Cherry star some serious credit for achieving that physique. Honestly, I’m getting chills from the clip but not so much from the A-lister’s body. It’s more so the fact that he did that plunge into the cold water, and the thought of feeling “frozen to the bone” like he does makes me shiver. Kudos to him, though, for not only taking part in that frosty feat but also for keeping himself in such great shape.

It would be an understatement to say that the Peter Parker portrayer isn’t the only MCU actor he’s devoted to being in superhero shape. Shang-Chi star Simu Liu has been working on his abs, given that he’s set to reprise his role as the martial arts master in Avengers: Doomsday. Deadpool & Wolverine star Hugh Jackman also seems to have abs for days. At present, Chris Hemsworth’s biceps also look huge, as he’s set to play Thor once more in Doomsday.

When it comes to Tom Holland, he’s had more than a few notable experiences in the gym. He previously worked out with Jake Gyllenhaal – one of his Spider-Man: Far From Home co-stars – and Holland’s own competitive nature prompted him to go a bit too hard. Another former workout partner of Holland’s is Mark Wahlberg, who encouraged him to work out more while they were making Uncharted. Holland is certainly devoted, and one needn’t look further than his electricity-infused workout methods to understand that.

As of late, Holland has been filming the highly anticipated Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and he’s been pumped about production. The actor recently shared a behind-the-scenes video in which he opened up about his first day of shooting. What made that particular “day one” so special for Holland was the fact that fans were present on set and that he was able to interact with them.

That time for interaction with the fans is, of course, just one aspect of Tom Holland’s filming experience, though. With principal photography only just having started, Holland still has a lot of work ahead of him. Considering how he’s historically approached work, I’d expect him to give it his all. Those efforts may very well also include making sure that his abs remain as pristine as they were when he did that water plunge. The drama is getting wild on Bachelor in Paradise, whose revamped 10th season is currently airing on the 2025 TV schedule. The introduction of a huge cash prize has couples spiraling and scheming, with much of the drama centered around Jeremy Simon going behind his partner Bailey Brown’s back. It all came to a head in Episode 7, and while bartender Wells Adams isn’t always my favorite, I couldn’t agree more with his comments about the cast’s “douchebag code.”

Look, I know Wells Adams is a beloved member of Bachelor Nation, and it’s probably an unpopular opinion, but I’m usually not here for the obvious disdain the bartender has for the young singles (or “drunk idiots,” as he calls them on the show). That said, he was SPOT-ON with his take on the Jeremy Simon situation, when Brian Autz was villainized for spilling the tea to Bailey Brown about her dude trying to get Susie Evans to come back. Adams said:

Since when is Wells Adams the voice of reason on Bachelor in Paradise? I don’t know, and I don’t care, because at least somebody was talking logic. I was so happy to hear him say this, because I also felt like I was going crazy. How did Brian Autz become the bad guy in this situation? The bartender continued:

Ugh, THANK YOU Wells. There was a lot of talk about bro code, but what about girl code? All of those women knew Jeremy Simon admitted to wishing he’d given his rose to Susie Evans instead of Bailey Brown, and he that he'd called Susie and asked her to come back. Why would they allow Bailey — their friend? — to be embarrassed like that on national television?

It was incredibly frustrating to watch, and I was so relieved to hear Wells Adams injecting a little common sense into the ridiculousness. Also, “douchebag code” is a rebrand I can get behind, and I can see why The Bachelorette alum was so proud of himself, writing on X:

Maybe I haven’t always been Wells Adams’ biggest fan, but he’s definitely winning me over with his take on this Bachelor in Paradise cast’s abhorrent behavior. Throughout the years Robbie played Harley three times in live action: Suicide Squad, Birds of Prey, and The Suicide Squad. While James Gunn confirmed a few heroes were sticking around, fans were left wondering about Robbie. A new report from THR's Heat Vision newsletter claimed that:

Obviously this is not a confirmation from the studio, and we might want to take it with a grain of salt. But since Gunn has never given any indication that he plans on collaborating again with Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn in the future, it's not looking great.

Back in January of 2024, Gunn confirmed there were not plans to bring back Margot Robbie's Harley just yet. And while he expressed interest in working with her again, it's possible that her tenure as the beloved DC antihero has come to an end.

The same report claimed that Weapons director Zach Creggers working on a possible upcoming DC movie called Henchmen. It would focus on the lower level criminals who work for Gotham's villains, but would also feature Joker and Harley Quinn. It remains to be seen if this project comes together, and who would play the latter character.

Personally, I wish that Margot Robbie would continue playing Harley Quinn in the DC Universe. She crushed the role under three different directors and three very different projects. And whoever possibly replaces her in the burgeoning shared universe is going to have some very big shoes to fill. So why not bring the Barbie star back for future projects as Ms. Quinzel?

Perhaps James Gunn's plans for the character include a full reboot, with her once again serving as Joker's girlfriend and assistant. This would be a major step backward from the character development we saw from Robbie's version throughout the DCEU. I'm just spitballing here, but there are plenty of reasons why the Oscar nominee not might reprise her signature role.

For now we'll just have to wait for some official word from James Gunn, Robbie, or the studio. The next DC movie expected to hit theaters is Supergirl on June 26th of next year as part of the 2026 movie release list.
